NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Giacinta Mary Armiento Hughes was born in New Rochelle, NY on November 8, 1924 to Vito and Maria Simone Armiento. She graduated from Albert Leonard High School in New Rochelle in 1942 and worked as bookkeeper. She married Felix “Pete” Hughes at St Gabriel’s Church in New Rochelle in 1949. Survived by their son Felix “Hap” Hughes (Donna), grandchildren Felix (Robin) and Catherine Marie Hughes and two great grandchildren, Riley Lee Ann and Ryder Skye. She was predeceased by her brother Bernard V. Armiento. She followed the Secular Franciscan Order for over 40 years and was a Legion of Mary of Westchester. A parishioner of the former Most Holy Trinity Church in Mamaroneck and a member of the Ladies Guild and Rosary Group at the church, currently was a parishioner of St. Vito’s / Holy Trinity Church in Mamaroneck. As a homemaker she enjoyed reading, sewing and letter writing. To honor Giacinta’s life, family and friends will gather on Thursday 4-9pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E. Boston Post Rd Mamaroneck, 914-698-5968. Funeral Mass Friday 10am St. Vito’s followed by interment at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
