NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The games were so coveted that you had to buy tickets in advance, and the Gaels didn’t disappoint, taking all three basketball games–freshman, junior varsity and varsity–from the Archbishop Stepinac Crusaders in White Plains on Jan. 8

The freshman team won by 14 with a 55-41 victory that got the ball rolling. The JV continued its torrid streak, more than doubling the freshman win margin with a 36-point victory, 69-33.  The Junior Varsity Basketball team is now 10-0 on the year.

The varsity game, however, was significantly tighter. Despite not having a lead until the final two minutes, the Gaels battled back to claim a 53-51 victory at Stepinac and retain its No. 1 ranking in The Journal News basketball rankings.  The Gaels were led by Nick Brennen who had 13 points, Pat Fleming and Josh Alexander had 12 points also in the win.
