Hudson Park Summer Concert - High School Students Shine

ShareThis

Tonight at Hudson Park there was a free outdoor concert, another in the series of Wednesdays concerts sponsored by New Rochelle Parks & Recreation and Webster Bank. With a moment of silence, those gathered acknowledged the passing of Gentlemen Councilman Stowe.

New Rochelle High School students "Voices 6", just back from a trip to China, performed pieces from Rent, Jackson 5, among others.

New Rochelle High School band "Rochambros" performed popular pieces with talent and skill. This vocalist captured the audience with her rendition of Billy Joel and Beatles favorites, plus 'Soul Sister' and other songs now on the radio. Great job!

After a brief intermission a Jimi Hendrix cover band called 'Tambourine' played 'Fire' and the 'Star Spangled Banner' with electric guitar.

People enjoyed the music from the beach and boats, as well.

There are three more concerts in the series -- Aug. 11th 'Jesters of Five'; Aug. 18th 'Silver Streaks Band'; and Aug. 25th 'The Westchester Chordsmen'.
