NOAAWeatherMapFeb2 2011Roads are covered with a frozen, icy, slushy mess making travel extremely dangerous. Untreated roads are sheets of ice. If you do not have to travel, officials ask that you remain home until freezing rain turns to rain later this morning.

BANDS OF LIGHT TO MODERATE FREEZING RAIN WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS EARLY THIS MORNING. ICE ACCRETION RATES OF .05 TO .10 INCHES PER HOUR ARE EXPECTED TROUGH 9 AM. TEMPERATURES WILL SLOWLY CLIMB THROUGH THE UPPER 20S TO AROUND 30 THROUGH THIS TIME. TRAVELERS ARE ADVISED TO USE EXTREME CAUTION TRAVELING THIS MORNING AS UNTREATED SURFACES WILL BE A SHEET OF ICE.

IN ADDITION... THESE ICE ACCUMULATIONS AND GUSTY WINDS WILL LIKELY BRING DOWN TREE BRANCHES AND CAUSE POWER OUTAGES.
