Iona College to Screen Documentary on New Rochelle’s Thanhouser Studio and the Birth of American Cinema

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College, Dean of Arts and Science Lecture Series will host a film screening of “The Thanhouser Studio and the Birth of American Cinema,” a documentary about the birth of American cinema at the turn of the century told through the story of the rise and fall of one of America’s pioneering early motion picture studios.

The event will be on Thursday, April 30, at 3:30 p.m. in the Iona College - Christopher J. Murphy Auditorium.

Guest speaker Edwin (Ned) Thanhouser, president of the Thanhouser Company Film Preservation, Inc., will give a brief introduction and there will be a brief Q & A session following the film.

This event is free and open to the public.
