NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- he Iona College men’s water polo team saw their season come to an end on Sunday, Nov. 8 at the hands of their rival, Fordham.  On the second day of the CWPA Northern Championship, the Gaels fell short of the Rams, 13-6.

Sophomore Zach Roper led the Iona Gaels attacks with three goals on seven shots.  Junior Chris Ellis had two goals, and sophomore Jonathan Hulbert chipped in one score.

After converting on 66% of their man-up opportunities the day before in their contests against St. Francis Brooklyn and Connecticut College, the Maroon & Gold’s power play offense sputtered, scoring just one goal on five chances.  Freshman Spencer Anthony led Iona with two kick outs drawn.

Senior Matt McCrudden made seven saves while defending the cage.
