NEW ROCHELLE, NY – Following its performance at the 2015 Virginia Challenge the Iona College women’s outdoor track team climbed to No. 20 in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division I National Team Computer Rankings. The Gaels jumped 11 spots from last week.

Iona’s computer score of 89.20 was bolstered by graduate Rosie Clarke’s performance in the 1,500-meter event at Virginia. Clarke shattered the Iona record in the event running a 4:12.10 which stands as the third best time in the NCAA this season. Teammate Kate Avery appears twice on the computer list, for her performance in the 5,000 meter event at the Stanford Invitational on Apr. 3 and for last season’s 10,000-meter performance at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational, an event she has yet to run in 2015. Avery’s 5k time of 15:25.63 this year is also a school record and No. 1 on the NCAA Qualifying list by nearly seven seconds.
