Lillian J. Santoro (1928 – 2013), Former New Rochelle Librarian

Lillian Santoro, 84, of New Rochelle, New York, died March 10, 2013, at Wingate at Beacon in Beacon, NY. She was born June 9, 1928, to John and Margaret Minshull Zimmerman. She was a graduate of Albert Leonard High School. Lillian worked as an executive secretary at Joyce Beverages, her favorite job, from 1967 until the company closed in the 1980’s. She later worked at the New Rochelle Public Library, another job she loved, until her retirement. Lillian loved to read and spend time with her grandchildren.

On September 28, 1947, she married Charles Santoro, who predeceased her on February 12, 2013. Lillian is survived by her children Charles (Kathy) Santoro, Nancy (Patrick) Marciano, Richard (Mary Ann) Santoro, and Robert (Olga) Santoro, and by her grandchildren Alaina (Casey) Donnellon, Nicholas Marciano, Steven Santoro, Katie Santoro, and Michael Santoro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Her five sisters and two brothers predeceased her.

Visitation will be held at George T. Davis Funeral Home 14 Lecount Place New Rochelle, NY 10801 914-632-0324 on Tuesday March 12, 2013 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of christian burial Wednesday at Holy Family Church 10:30 am. Interment Beechwoods Cemetery.
