Faces Reckless Endangerment, DWI and narcotics possession charges

VALHALLA, NY -- A Long Island man was charged this morning with a felony and two misdemeanors after he drove the wrong way on three Westchester parkways.

Jason Eisenfeld, 34, of Old Bethpage, N.Y., was charged with Reckless Endangerment 1st Degree, a felony, and Driving While Intoxicated and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, misdemeanors. A small amount of cocaine was found in his car after his arrest.

County police received several 911 calls about 2:20 a.m. reporting that a white Volkswagen Jetta was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of travel on the Hutchinson River Parkway near Weaver Street in New Rochelle.  The white Jetta continued on to the Cross County Parkway, traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of travel. The Jetta narrowly avoided striking two county police patrol cars responding to the incident.

The Jetta subsequently traveled northbound in the southbound lanes of travel on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Yonkers before it was forced to a stop by a county police officer near Executive Boulevard.

Eisenfeld will be arraigned later today in Yonkers City Court.
