NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Monroe College men's cross country team, on the heels of a strong overall performance, ran its way to its second-straight Region 15 Championship, in a meet hosted by St. Joseph's College at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, New York, on Saturday.

Mpho Makofane was the overall winner and the Region XV Champion as well.  He posted a blazing time of 27:53.6

After that, Jaymes Dennison finished in 29:50.6 and was the Region XV Runner Up.  Kipkoech Collins crossed the line in a time of 30:07, Tevin Aitken finished in 31:05.6, Christian Patterson towed the line in a time of 34:32.   The final two finishers for Monroe were Rajay Hinds (35:24.6) and Krishane Bowers (36:38.5).

Coach Green reflected on the team's overall performance: "The day presented a lot of challenges for the men as well as the women.  It was cold and windy, not to mention having hilly terrain throughout the course. Despite the elements, our men performed exceptionally well and eared the Championship.  I'm very proud  of the team ."

The team next competes at the JUCO Northeast Invitational hosted by the CCRI.  The event takes place in Warwick, Rhode Island on Saturday, October 31.
