BRIDGEPORT, PA — The Iona College men’s water polo team earned one of four at-large bids for the 2014 CWPA Championship, the league announced Tuesday. The Gaels, seeded 11th, will take on the Southern Division third seed Navy in the first round Friday, Nov. 21 at 12:40 pm.
The top six were based on the top three finishing teams from the Northern & Southern Championship, while the fourth and fifth place finishers from the Southern Division were guaranteed slots in the field and fell into the mix with the four at-large teams for seeding.
The at-large picks (Fordham, MIT, Iona and Washington & Jefferson) were selected by the Varsity Governance Council.
