Michael Cerreta, a lifelong resident of New Rochelle died on October 22, 2014. He was 74.

Michael was born on September 27, 1940 in New Rochelle, to the late John and Lena (Aeillo) Cerreta. He was the owner of Mike Cerreta Auto Sales in New Rochelle for 50 years. He was a Navy veteran and a former member of the Elks Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Cynthia Wood whom he married on April 28, 1967; his three children, Cynthia Cerreta, Michael (Jennifer) Cerreta and John Cerreta; his three grandchildren, Julia Marie, R.J and Justin and his brother, Salvatore Cerreta.

Visiting hours will be Sunday and Monday 3-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, Inc., 16 Shea Pl., New Rochelle, where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 7pm. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to make the Make a Wish Foundation.

    I bought several cars from him over the years and his business was almost a community staple. Sorry to see him pass. RIP.
