Once again the Board of Education is going to illegally go into executive session at 6 PM which makes the phrase "Seeing Is Believing – See For Yourself" at the top of every agenda even more amusing.

Here are a few resolutions that caught my eye.

RESOLUTION No. 12-241-19
INTERSCHOLASTIC INTRAMURALS - NEW ROCHELLE HIGH SCHOOL SPRING
SESSION 2012
STAFF MEMBER AUTHORIZATION
RESOLVED, that the pedagogic staff members listed below be authorized to bc employed as
coaches in the Interscholastic/Intramural Program (Spring 2012), to be paid the stipend listed below:

Daniele, Bruce Head Varsity Golf 4,199

I like this because Daniele is already paid to be the full-time head of security for the entire district but he is being paid to be out on golf courses all over Westchester instead of attending to school security. Same goes for his coaching girl's volleyball. How do you get paid to be 24/7 security administrator and get paid for additional work?

RESOLUTION No. 12-241-10
LIFEGUARD DUTY - NEW ROCHELLE HIGH SCHOOL
(Al2110159390000)
RESOLVED, Theodore Washington be authorized and approved to provide Lifeguard duty
during morning Physical Education classes at New Rochelle High School for the 2011·2012
school year, not to exceed 50 hours, to be paid at the hourly rate of $41.69.

\

I like this one because it explains that in addition to the cost of a security guard at $25 and hour there is a cost of $42.00 an hour to have a lifeguard at the New Rochelle High School pool.

Million Dollar Swim Coach Rakes in the Cash at Taxpayer Expense with Sweetheart Deal on New Rochelle High School Pool

We get paid about $25 an hour by the Badger Swim Club that cost the district about $100 an hour to operate. You can't make that up on volume!

RESOLUTION No. 12-242-6
APPOINTMENTS - HOURLYIPER TRIP RATES -DISTRICT-WIDE:
RESOLVED, that the appointment of the following as non-pedagogic hourly staff members in the
City School District of New Rochelle to the positions noted, hourly rate and effective dates as
indicated for the 2011-2012 school year be and hereby are approved, and who have been cleared by
the New York State Department SAV.E. Law as specified herein and their employment is subject
to discontinuance in accordance with Education Law:

George Greene Special Ed. Aide (sub) $19.45 02110/2012
Gloria Yanez= Lunchroom Monitor (sub) $19.45 0211 0/2012

I like this because it means they are no longer doing this…

SUPERINTENDENT'S CIVIL SERVICE PERSONNEL RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION NO. 12-243
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION BY THE SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS OF WAIVER REQUESTS TO THE SUPERINTENDENT OF THE NEW YORK STATE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION PURSUANT TO RETIREMENT AND SOCIAL SECURITY LAW SECTION 211 FOR CERTAIN DISTRICT EMPLOYEE

It is vitally important that our Director of Security be among the most generously compensated public employees in New York State. This one gets its own article...
