New Rochelle DPW Begins Issuing Recycling Warnings

Written By: Robert Cox

dpw warning.jpgNew Rochelle Department of Public Works employees were walking neighborhoods on the North End today, handing out warnings at any home that did not put out recyclables today. Sources at the DPW tell Talk of the Sound they DPW employees are covering the entire city with reminders/threats that if they find residents mixing recyclables with household trash they may get a summons and/or fine.

Given the financial difficulties facing the City including threatened layoffs of DPW employees I would suggest readers heed the warning because this program could mean easy money for a department looking to justifying maintain its current staff to the City Manager.
