NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle Fire Department held their annual Awards and Promotion Ceremony on Monday, October 20 at 10AM at New Rochelle City Hall. October is Fire Prevention Month. The ceremony featured swearing in of promoted members and probationary firefighters; and departmental awards in recognition of bravery and accomplishments.
The Liberty Mutual Insurance Fire Mark Award was presented to Firefighter Daniel Thompson for his lifesaving rescue at the Pelham Road fire in February 2014. FF Thompson also received a Class 2 Citation and other responding companies were recognized as well.
