SUFFERN, NY -- New Rochelle Little League 10u team staged a dramatic come-from-behind win take the New York State Section 3 North Championship at Cucolo Field in Suffern, NY on Thursday.

New Rochelle was down 14-6 to Haverstraw going into the top of the sixth inning (the last inning in little league) before rallying to score 9 runs to eek out a 15-14 victory.

Star of the game Luke Nascimento hit 2 home runs in the last inning, including a grand slam to take the lead.

Nascimento then came on to pitch the bottom of the 6th and closed it out for the victory. The team went undefeated through the District 21 tournament and the Section 3 North tournament. No team from New Rochelle has ever won the Sectional championship.

The team moves on to the New York State Championship Tournament in Rochester on Monday.
