New Rochelle Police Blotter – July 20, 2015

Larceny at CVS Pharmacy: New Rochelle police responded to a report of larceny by two women at the CVS Pharmacy located at 309 Main Street at about 11 p.m. on Sunday July 12th.

The Assistant Manager told police that two unknown females entered the store and stole baby formula and cosmetics.

The complainant told police the first suspect was Female/Black, 5’5, small build, 65 years old, wearing a gray shirt, black pants, and a black baseball hat. She entered the store with a shopping cart, selected 13 containers of baby formula, placed them in a Macy’s shopping bag and proceeded to walk out the store without paying for them.

The complainant told police the first suspect was Female/Black, small build, 20 years old, wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, and a white hat. She entered the store two minutes after the first suspect and proceeded to go to the cosmetics aisle where she picked up an unknown amount of cosmetics and placed them into the first suspect’s Macy’s shopping bag.

The complainant said both suspects were last scene fleeing East on Main Street. The theft was captured on the stores surveillance cameras and the Assistant Manager offered to provide a copy of the video tape to police.

The baby formula that was stolen was valued at $260, the value of the cosmetics was unknown.

Broken Truck Mirror on Badeau Place: New Rochelle police responded to a report of damage to a 2004 Nissan Titan pickup truck on Badeau Place at about 10 a.m. on Sunday July 12th.

Complainant told police the truck was parked overnight and in the morning the drivers side view mirror was broken. Complainant believes that kids that walk around the area broke the mirror. No suspect information was provided.

Stolen Cell Phone at Greentree Country Club: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a stolen cell phone at the Greentree Country Club at 538 Davenport Avenue at about 2 a.m. on Sunday July 12th.

Complaint told police that she is an employee at the Greentree Country Club and put her cell phone in her jacket pocket inside the coat room at 5 pm Saturday July 11th. When she went to get her jacket at about 11 p.m. the phone was stolen. The estimated value of the cell phone is about $150.00.

Complaint told police she did not witness anyone steal the phone and that there are no cameras located where the incident occurred. There are no suspects at this time.

Punch in the Face at La Clave: New Rochelle police responded to a report that an unknown person punched a man in the face as he exited La Clave nightclub.

The complainant appeared to be intoxicated and became uncooperative with police during the interview. People at La Clave told police they did not see any incident occur. Police did observe a minor cut to the complainants lip but there were no signs of any serious physical injury.

The complaint described the assailant as a Male/Black, wearing cargo pants, white sneakers, a black shirt and black baseball cap. There are no suspects at this time.

Fraud from Jamaica: New Rochelle police responded to a report of fraud by various individuals with Jamaican accents calling over the telephone to a man residing at Stonelea Place at about 7 p.m. on Sunday July 12th.

Complainant stated that within the past few months he had started receiving phone calls from various individuals with Jamaican accents, who had all claimed to possess two million dollars in prize money and wished to give it to the complainant for winning. A male caller identified himself as “Benjamin Bush”. Complainant stated that he was coerced by Mr. Bush to send him money through Western Union to collect his “winnings”, that he sent a total of $3,000 via Western Union and CVS Money Gram.

Complainant stated that over the course of a month he came to realize he was the victim of a scam and that he has told Mr. Bush to stop calling him at which point he began receiving threatening calls from Mr. Bush stating he knows where he lives and he will come to the United States and kill him if he does not continue to send him money.

Complainant stated he is fearful Mr. Bush will follow through with the threats, wishes to document the incident and that he will change his phone number in an attempt to avoid future contact with Mr. Bush.
