Rental Car Missing for Months: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle at 1 Station Plaza in New Rochelle, NY on July 24th shortly before noon.

Complainant, a manager of a Hertz rental location in New Rochelle, NY, stated that Blake Orville rented a 2013 Hyundai Elantra on February 8, 2015 with a return due date of March 1, 2015 and still has not returned the vehicle despite multiple notifications via telephone, mail and in person.

Police determined that the vehicle has been seen on multiple occasions in the Bronx, NY via plate readers and parking violations. The most recent was a parking violation on June 9th, 2015.

Estate Executor Reports Attempted Break-In: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an attempted burglary on Coligni Avenue in New Rochelle, NY on July 24th at about 9:30 a.m.

Complainant, who is the executor of the estate, stated his uncle had owned the house but passed away in April 2015 and now he is in charge of the property. He said when he went to the residence on July 24th he noticed the rear door frame was damaged by force. Entry did not appear to be gained and nothing was missing from the property.

Complainant believes his cousins were involved because they did not have keys to the property and wanted to get paper work regarding the household.

20 Quarters Stolen From Unlocked Car: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a larceny from a motor vehicle on Wildwood Road in New Rochelle, NY on July 24th at about 10:00 a.m.

Complainant stated a larceny from her motor vehicle occurred overnight. She told police between 8:00 p.m. on July 23rd and 9:00 a.m. on July 24th someone rifled the interior glove box, center console, and change compartment removing five dollars in quarters. She stated the vehicle was unlocked for the night while parked in the driveway. There are no witnesses or suspects.

Ignored Alarm Allows Break-In: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an attempted burglary at a New Rochelle establishment on July 24th at about 7:00 a.m.

Complainant stated he entered incident location and noticed that one of the the front windows of his establishment had been broken. The window is set well off of the road and is concealed by hanging plants making the window unable to be seen from the road. He stated that he was contacted by the alarm company but advised them not to dispatch police because he believed it was a false alarm.

Complainant provided police with surveillance video which depicted an unknown male white, wearing dark clothing breaking a window at incident location and making entry through the broken window at 2:46 a.m.. The unknown male white then went directly to the cash register and noticed that the register was empty and then immediately exited incident location through the window. The suspect is a Male/White wearing blue and white workmen's gloves.

Mountain Bike Goes Missing: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a past larceny at 40 Memorial Highway (Halstead) on July 23rd at about 11:30 a.m.

Complainant stated his red and white mountain bicycle was stolen sometime over night. The bicycle was locked in the parking garage stairwell off of the main driveway which can only be accessed by a resident with a key fob. He last saw the bicycle at 12:30 p.m. on July 22nd and found it missing at about 10:00 a.m. on July 23rd.

Complainant stated he does not know the make of the bicycle or the serial number. The bicycle is valued at $200. 

Building management stated that the parking garage does have video surveillance cameras but the closest camera to the stairwell is out of service.

NYPD Finds Hyundai Dealer Car: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a stolen motor vehicle at the Hyundai of New Rochelle on 125 E Main Street on July 23rd at about 10:40 a.m.

The New York Police Department contacted the New Rochelle Police Department and advised that a vehicle from the Hyundai dealer had been recovered in New York City and when they contacted Hyundai they were advised by Hyundai that the vehicle had been stolen and not reported.

Complainant, the office manager, stated the vehicle stolen was a new 2015 Hyundai Sonata. He stated that the vehicle was last seen on their property by their parking lot at 10:00 p.m. on July 22nd.

Phone Stolen at Alvin & Friends: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a larceny in the past in New Rochelle on July 23rd at about 1:00 a.m.

The complainant stated that her iPhone 5S was stolen. She stated that she she is a manager at Alvin & Friends. She stated she put her phone on the bar when she was closing up and when she returned she noticed that it was missing. She stated that the only other people in the restaurant were Alvin, the owner, and an employee. She stated Alvin tried calling her phone and it was ringing but she could not find it so she assumed it was somewhere in her bag and went home. She stated that when she got home she searched her bag and could not find the phone. She stated she used the track my iPhone app on her iPad and was able to get a pin on her phone showing it in New Rochelle but in a part of the city where she does not know anyone. She stated she does not want to pursue any charges and just wants her phone back. She stated there are cameras in the restaurant which will possibly show who took her phone.
