Broken Car Window on North Avenue: New Rochelle police responded to 990 North Ave on a complaint of Criminal Mischief at about 6:00 p.m. on July 26th.

Complainant stated that between about 6:30 p.m. on July 24th and July 25th about 3:00 p.m. an unknown person broke the rear window to the vehicle on the 900 block of North Avenue. There are no suspects or witnesses.

Pot Bust on Winthrop Avenue: Ryan Hines, 27, of New York, NY was arrested at 97 Winthrop Avenue on a charge of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation, at about 9:00 a.m. on July 26th.

Fútbol Jersey Prompts Punch in Face: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of a dispute in front of 54 Centre Avenue at about 9:00 p.m. on July 26th.

Complaint stated that upon leaving his residence at 54 Centre Avenue he was approached by a known person, a Male/Hispanic, who was standing by the entrance door. Complainant stated that the Male/Hispanic appeared intoxicated, became verbally abusive and was provoking a fight because of the soccer shirt he was wearing. He said the Male/Hispanic approached him in a threatening manner at which time, in self-defense, he punched the Male/Hispanic in the face causing minor bleeding to the nose.

The Male/Hispanic stated he in fact did provoke the incident and refused medical attention at this time. The Male/Hispanic was advised to leave the area several times and finally did so without incident.

Woman Threatens to Put Nude Photos of Ex-Friend Online: New Rochelle Police arrested Jennifer Rivera, 19. on a charge of Aggravated Harassment-2nd (Communicating Threat of Physical Harm), a Class A Misdemeanor, on Warren Street at about 4:00 a.m. on July 26th.

Complainant told police that approximately twenty minutes in the past, she received threatening text messages from Rivera stating that she was going to beat her up. Complainant also stated that Rivera was driving in the area of incident location and texting that she was going to stop at her residence on Warren Street to fight. The vehicle was described as a white Acura with a black hood. 

Complainant also stated that Rivera, a former friend, is threatening to release nude photos of her online and that she contacted the police so that the incident could be documented. Rivera was later located, arrested and released.

Man Arrested for Stealing Steve Madden Wallet: Juan Luis Arias, 24, of New Rochelle, NY was arrested by the New Rochelle Police and charged with Petit Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Criminal Mischief with Intend to Damage Property, a Class A Misdemeanor following an incident involving two friends having an argument at 37 Beechwood Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. on July 26th.

Complainant stated that she and her “friend”, Juan Luis Arias, just had an argument and that during the course of the argument Arias broke the rear view mirror off of her vehicle  and then grabbed her wallet from the vehicle and ran off. The wallet was described as a black Steve Madden wallet, containing $80 cash, her social security card, and her passport, 

She stated that she had met Arias the night before and did not know where he lived, but gave a physical description which matched Juan Luis Arias who was subsequently arrested.

Car Stolen on First Street: New Rochelle Police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on First Street on July 26th at about 10:30 a.m.

Complainant stated he last saw his vehicle, a 1992 Honda Accord, parked in front of his house at about 1:00 p.m. on July 25th and at 9:00 a.m. on July 26th, his mother advised him the vehicle was missing.

Drunk Driver on Weyman Avenue: Gustovo Hoyos, 37, of New Rochelle, NY was arrested by New Rochelle Police and charged with Driving While Intoxicated-1st Offense, a Class U Misdemeanor, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with .08 pf 1% or More Alcohol in Blood-1st Offense, a Class U Misdemeanor, at about 11:00 p.m. on July 26th at the intersection of Weyman Avenue and Woodbury Street in New Rochelle, NY.
