Man Bitten in Roadhouse Ruckus: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an Assault at the Texas roadhouse on August 12th at about 6:30 p.m..
Complainant stated that a man attacked him as he entered the restaurant without provocation. He stated that he believes he knows the person’s name but is unsure because he’s never met him before. He stated that the person jumped on his back and bit him on the back of his right shoulder.
Burglar Comes Up Empty: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a burglary at 499 Fifth Avenue in New Rochelle on August 9, 2015.
The complainant, the manager of A&D distributors, told police that a party unlawfully entered his business at about 10:30 p.m. on August 9, 2015. The unknown party jumped over the locked fence, looked into the vehicle on the premises, and then enter the premises through an unlocked office window. The window was slightly ajar due to an air-conditioning unit. The unknown male suspect then exited the premise the same way approximately 4 minutes later and fled. The complaint does not believe any property was taken and no damage was reported this time. The police department did receive alarm activation by the business alarm company.
Homeless Man in Journal News T-Shirt Assaults Woman: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an Assault in front of 484 North Avenue on August 12th at about 4:30 p.m.
Complainant, a woman, stated that while speaking to a male acquittance, she was approached by another man and a verbal dispute ensued. The other man became enraged and grabbed her by the throat. She began to scream for help. The man fled the scene,heading southbound on North Avenue.
The suspect was described as a male/black with a bald head wearing a “Journal News” T-shirt with blue jeans and black sneakers. He is known to be homeless.
Check Stolen in New York, Cashed in Virginia: New Rochelle police responded to a report of Fraud at 22 Clinton Avenue in New Rochelle New York at about 5 p.m. on August 13th.
Complainant stated that around September 2014, a check for approximately $20,000 was mailed to her home. The check was cashed at the Capital One bank in Richmond, Virginia. Complainant stated that someone forged her signature in order to cash her check.
Car Ransacked on Coligni: New Rochelle police responded to a report of an Attempted Larceny at 69 Coligni Avenue in New Rochelle, New York at about 7:30 p.m. on August 12.
Complainant stated that at about 8 o’Clock in the morning he observed his vehicle was ransacked. He stated that nothing was taken. The complainant last saw his vehicle undisturbed on August 12th at approximately 7:30 p.m.. He claims his wife’s car was also ransacked.
Jamaican Guests Strike Gold: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a Larceny and 31 Morris St. in New Rochelle on August 12th at about 4:45 p.m.
Complainant walked into the Rochelle police headquarters to report a larceny. He stated that around July 28 she discovered that her gold rope necklace, valued at approximately $2000, was missing from her bedroom. She stated that she last saw her necklace on her bedroom dresser on Saturday, July 25th. She said she had some friends come to visit from Jamaica, during the time that the necklace went missing. Complaint did not wish to provide the names of visiting friends and does not wish to pursue the matter criminally. She wished simply to document the larceny as she is already reached after insurance company to be reimbursed for the necklace.
Another Heritage Homes Drug Bust: New Rochelle police arrested Ernest Webb on August 12th at about 10 a.m. at 55 Colonel Lee Archer Boulevard in New Rochelle.
Webb was charged with on lawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Cold Cut Criminal Caught: Mikhail Psatskis, 45, of the Bronx was arrested at the ShopRite Store at 8 Joyce Road in New Rochelle on August 11th at about 7:20 p.m.
Psatskis was observed by store security removing cold cuts from the freezer and then concealing them inside a yellow bag before walking out of the store without paying for them. A loss prevention officer and another employee approached the man by the front door the supermarket items amounted to $108.12.
He was arrested and charged with one count of Petty Larceny, a Class A Misdemeanor.
The Movers Did It?: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a larceny at 255 Huguenot Streeton August 11th at about 7:30 p.m.
Complainant stated that she packed jewelry in her jewelry box on Friday, August 7th and placed it in a closet with other personal items in preparation for a move. At 8:00 a.m. on August 8th the movers that she hired arrived, begin packing up your items in her apartment, and placing them in the moving truck. The movers completed the packing up of the apartment at noon and left the incident location. Complaint stated that the movers arrived in her new apartment at approximately 1:30 p.m. and unloaded the complaints personal items without further incident. On the night of August 10th at approximately 11 p.m. the complainant went through her jewelry box and noticed that she was missing multiple articles of jewelry.
Among the items missing were two Silver wedding bands valued at $1,000 apiece one silver diamond engagement ring valued at $2,000 silver diamond ring valued at $800.
Bike Bandit Strikes: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a larceny at 21 Springdale Road in New Rochelle on August 11th at about 1:30 p.m.
Complaint stated that he left his bicycle near the stairs of 21 Springdale Road while he went inside. The bicycle was not secured. When the complaint came out of the residence he observed a male black wearing a black jacket and a black baseball cap riding away southbound on screen your road on his bicycle. Complainant stated he attempted to run after the suspect but could not catch him. The suspect was last seen in the vicinity the Mamaroneck border.
The item stolen was a black 21 speed Raleigh bicycle valued at $300.
Refrigerator Repairman Wronged: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a Larceny in the past at an apartment at 210 Pelham Road.
A complainant, a refrigerator repair man, walked into police headquarters to report a larceny. He stated that on July 25th he was issued a check for $319.72 to cover the service fee and parts for work on an appliance. On July 29th, he received a letter from the Bank of America stating that the account was closed. Complainant states that he called multiple times with regard to the check and now wished pursue criminal charges.
Push Leads to Shove Leads to Drug Bust: New Rochelle police responded to report possible assault on August 10th on Fifth Avenue in New Rochelle.
Complainant at first did not want to cooperate but later admitted that her boyfriend, Johan Rodriguez punched her and threw her to the ground. While police spoke to Rodriguez they observed the strong odor of marijuana coming from him and noticed a black plastic bag partially sticking out of his pocket. As Rodriguez was being advised he was under arrest he dropped the plastic bag onto the sidewalk. The bag had several smaller clear plastic bags containing suspected marijuana.
Rodriguez, 23, was placed in arrest and charged with one count of Assault in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.
Something Borrowed, Something Stolen: New Rochelle police responded to a report of a stolen motorcycle. The person calling stated he was not the owner the motorcycle but was in possession of it. He stated owner is on vacation. He also stated that the motorcycle is not yet registered. Police contacted the owner who said that was his motorcycle. The otorcycle had been parked on the corner of Everett Avenue and Main Street. He stated he left it there at about 12 noon on Wednesday, August 12th and when he went to check on it at 7 p.m. it was gone.
