Bob McCaffrey: Echo Bay Development? What We Have Here is a Failure to Communicate
Bob McCaffrey calls on the New Rochelle City Council to allow the Echo Bay MOU with Forest City/Ratner to expire to clear the way to consider alternative plans for both the New Rochelle Armory and the City-owned waterfront acreage along Echo Bay.
Bob McCaffrey was born and raised in New Rochelle. He has worked for a major beverage company with responsibilities in sales, distribution and plant operations. He is an active member of the Mount Joy Neighborhood Association.

Life along the shoreline. Bustling activity, enjoying the natural beauty of this city. People coming here because they wanted to, for its quality of life and all it had to offer. NOT because of a failing urban housing scheme that tries to attract people to a vacant, shell of its former self. If the leaders of this city would just take care of the little things (like quality of life issues) the big things would take care of themselves. Put aside the singling out of specific issues and look at the more general picture. Has the city been on the decline the past 10 years, 20 years? The state of affairs has absolutely nothing to do with the economy of the past 3 or 4 years. Things were downhill prior to that. That's the litmus test. If you question anything, there's always an excuse, for everything. When someone always has an excuse for the calamity that surrounds them, don't you wonder if it's really the conditions, or is it the persons inability to cope. Unwilling to take responsibility for the mess. The expression "he's got an excuse for everything" comes to mind. That;s what we have here in New Rochelle the past decade at least. Anyhow, when Barry Fertel whines about people wanting things to be the way they used to be, look at these pictures and get back to me.
Anyhow, great job with the montage and the song!
Only thing missing was the Armory :-)
Was that the State of the City address for 2012?
