Written By: Robert Cox

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police Commissioner Patrick Carroll advised the New Rochelle City Council Tuesday on a pilot program to installRed Light Cameras by Redflex.

Carroll reported that four intersections are being targeted

• Main Street & North Avenue
• North Avenue & Huguenot Street
• Main Street & Webster Avenue
• Webster Avenue & Lincoln Avenue

He reported that thhese locations were picked due to the high number of red light tickets issued and the number of accidents at these Intersections. Redflex representative David Samuel stated that the trial period should last 48 hours. Samuel will then present the
finding to us In the form of a PowerPolnt by the end of the month.

  1. red light cameras
the intersection of fifth ave and sylvan pl/ pinebrook rd needs one of these cameras. i live on sylvan pl and i witness oblivious idiots every day coming up fifth ave who don’t pay one bit of attention to the light and turn right onto pinebrook. the city could probably catch a couple of dozen cars a day…EASY!…by the way, they don’t slow down at all, pedestrians trying to cross pinebrook rd are also in danger
