The 4th Annual Latino Youth Leadership Conference was held April 23-24 at New Rochelle High School, according to the The City School District of New Rochelle.

New York Yankees legend Mariano Rivera attracted hundreds of Latino youths as he delivered the keynote address during the event. The youths were from New York, Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, Sullivan and Nassau counties. NRHS students from the Hispanic Culture Club, United Cultures Club and the Newcomer Ambassadors Club planned and executed the event. A workshop followed Rivera’s speech. The workshop featured information about cultural identity, leadership, and college and career planning. Rivera also led an hour-long discussion with parents, the School Board’s Facebook post said.
