Obituary: Carmine Sonny “Max” Nicola (1927 – 2012)

Carmine Sonny “Max” Nicola a longtime resident of New Rochelle died June 7, 2012 was 85. Carmine was born March 4, 1927 in Tuckahoe, NY to the late Joseph and Angelina (Conese) Nicola . He was raised in Tuckahoe NY where he worked for over 35 years for the Eastchester DPW. After his retirement he worked for the Tuckahoe School District. He was active as a coach for the New Rochelle Little league, Football League and CYO Basketball. He was an avid Bowler and Bocci player.

He is survived by his wife the former Geraldine Zio whom he married on September 18, 1953; his two daughters Patricia (Gene) Romeo and Susan (Roy) Porto and his son Joseph Nicola. He is also survived by his two grandchildren Kimberly and Matthew and his two sisters Marie Colombo, Betty Zanchelli and many cousins.

Visiting Sunday 2-4pm & 7-9pm Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel Inc. 16 Shea Place New Rochelle NY. Funeral Mass will be Monday 10 am St. Joseph’s R. C. Church Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph Church, 280 Washington Ave, New Rochelle, NY
