Obituary: Cecilia D. Paulmann (1924 – 2012)

Cecilia D. Paulmann, 87, who was born in Great Barrington, MA to John & Cecilia Donohue, passed away on June 9, 2012. A lifelong resident of New Rochelle, she was a devoted wife and mother of nine children. She attended The College of New Rochelle but left in her junior year to marry Frederick H. Paulmann, Jr. who predeceased her in February 2011.

For more than 35 years she served as an Eucharist Minister. Many of those years were devoted as a volunteer with the Ursuline Nuns, who travelled to a variety of nursing homes each week. Following her tour of nursing homes she continued as an Eucharist Minister in Holy Family Parish and to homebound parishioners. She continued to bring the Holy Eucharist to the homebound until her illness 6 weeks ago.

She is survived by her children Frederick H. III (Marg) of Stockbridge, MA; John of Russell, MA; James of Lincoln, NE; Thomas (Margaret, predeceased in January 2012) of Hopewell Junction; Francis (JoAnne) of New Rochelle; Mary of New Rochelle; Cecilia P. Kavanah (Kevin) of Great Barrington, MA; Robert of Springfield, MA; Catherine of New Rochelle; 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary McCarren of Bronxville, NY and predeceased by two brothers.

She devoted her life to others but of all her commitments, she was completely devoted to her family and her beloved husband of 65½ years of marriage.

Visitation will be June 13 from 4-8pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons, 16 Shea Place in New Rochelle. Mass of the Resurrection will be June 14 at 10:30 am Holy Family Church. Interment will be at Holy Mount Cemetery in Eastchester.
