Obituary: Hugh C. Follen (1940 – 2012) – Marine, Vietnam Vet

Hugh C. Follen, a longtime resident of New Rochelle, died on May10, 2012. He was 71.

Hugh was born on November 28, 1940 in New Rochelle to the late Charles and Dorothy (Mellars) Follen. He served as a Sergeant in the US Marine Corp from 1963-1967. He served 2 years as a combat engineer in Viet Nam. He enjoyed building model trains and running the layout with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife the former Sylvia Celona whom he married on October 26, 1968: his children John (Elizabeth), Christopher (Trynia), Michael Pearce, Thomas Pearce and Lori (Stephen) Tange. He was a devoted and loving grandfather to Christopher, Madison, John Jr., Dean, Thomas Jr., Regina, Brittany, Justin and Simone. He is also survived by his brother William.

Visiting hours will be Friday 2-4 &7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy and Sons Beauchamp Chapel 16 Shea Pl. New Rochelle, NY. A funeral Mass is scheduled for Saturday 9:30am at Holy Family Church. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
