Obituary: Maria Gallagher (1971 – 2012)

Maria E. Gallagher, 40, of Danbury, wife of Kevin M. Gallagher died at her home on Wednesday morning, October 24, 2012.

Mrs. Gallagher was born in Mexico, November 14, 1971, a daughter of Antonio and Elena (Figueroa) Alvarez of New Rochelle, NY. She immigrated to the United States with her family in 1978 first settling in New Rochelle. She attended New Rochelle schools, New Rochelle High School, Westchester Community College and received her Bachelor’s degree from Albany State College and her Master’s of Business Administration from Iona College.

A marketing analyst, Mrs. Gallagher was employed by the W.J.Deutsch & Sons LTD of White Plains, NY. A resident of Danbury for the past ten years coming from Mt. Vernon, NY, she was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish of Danbury. Mrs. Gallagher enjoyed arts and crafts, scrapbooking and was an avid reader.

In addition to her husband Kevin of fourteen years and her parents, Mrs. Gallagher is survived by two daughters, Amanda Gallagher and Megan Gallagher both of Danbury; three brothers, a sister and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 10 AM in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Main Street & Robinson Avenue, Danbury. Interment will be private and at the direction of the family. There will be no calling hours.
