Obituary: Pearl R. Nelson (1914 – 2012)

Pearl Ruth Nelson, a lifetime resident of New Rochelle, departed this life June 25, 2012 while a patient at the Wartburg Home, Mt. Vernon. Born January 28, 1914 to Philip H. and Frances (Ayers) Bolden in New Rochelle where she graduated the public schools. Employed as a Domestic for private families, and married to Ben Nelson who predeceased her. An 83 year member of Shiloh Baptist Church, New Rochelle, active with the Senior Usher Ministry for many years. Surviving are a son, Hon. Charles H. Nelson (Mildred); 3 grandchildren, Yolanda “Lisa” Henderson (Brian), Charles E. Nelson (Tamika) and Deacon David P. Nelson (Quawana); 10 great grandchildren along with nieces, nephews and others. Predeceased by her parents, five brothers and seven sisters. Family to receive friends Tuesday, 9-11am Shiloh Baptist Church, 185 Lincoln Avenue, New Rochelle. Funeral 11am at the church.
