NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- New Rochelle Police have arrested 4 men in connection with two shootings in New Rochelle with possible links to the shooting of a Yonkers Police officer last week.

Jerry Reyes was arrested on October 4th along with Nicholas Terico and Angel Sandoval for their role in a shooting at 62 Remington Place. Also alleged to be involved is Frank Valencia who remains in the hospital.

Valencia and Reyes were charged in the shooting of Yonkers Police office Kayla Maher on the night of September 25th.

Terico and Sandoval were also arrested for their involvement in another shooting incident at 19 6th Street.

The exact nature of the evidentiary connections between the four suspects in the New Rochelle and the Yonkers police shooting have not been disclosed. A request for arrest records was denied by the NRPD on the grounds that it was an ongoing investigation. No arraignment has been set, raising questions about whether the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office plans to file charges. Sources tell Talk of the Sound that the DA did not want to charge Reyes in the Yonkers case until high-ranking Yonkers Police officials expressed deep concern about a decision not to charge Reyes.
