Parks & Recreations Summer Events Schedule

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This July 4th, cap off your holiday evening with a viewing of the grand fireworks display at the New Rochelle waterfront. Produced and sponsored by the famous Grucci family, the City of New Rochelle’s annual “Spark the Sound” extravaganza starts at 9:30 pm, rain or shine. Optimum viewing locations are Hudson Park, Five Islands Park, and waterfront restaurants.

The fireworks display kicks off a month of activities in celebration of July as “Parks and Recreation Month” with parks and playgrounds ready for play Hudson Park Beach opens full time beginning Monday June 26 and Lincoln Park Pool on July 4th.  Every Wednesday night the Hudson Park Bandshell comes alive with the Emil Paolucci Summer Sounds Concert Series, along with four extra Fridays of music- July 21 and,28 and August 4 and 11.

In the downtown, the Ruby Dee Park at Library Green will host the Downtown Jazz Festival July 13-16 followed by the BID’s Music on the Green on Thursdays July 20, 27 and August 3, and also the weekly Grand Market on Saturdays featuring produce, artisanal foods and crafts. And at Huguenot Park, enjoy the Friday Down to Earth Farmer’s Market that runs from June 2 to November 17.

Save the dates for the Lighted Boat Parade Saturday July 29 beginning at 8:30 PM, and the WFAN Boomer & Carton Celebrity Softball Game on August 24 at 6pm.
