The State of the City’s appalling,
this Thursday the Mayor is calling
for us to unite,
and join His “great fight”
to keep the Queen City from falling.
I wonder how this may be done,
’cause we’ve lost much more than we’ve won.
The streets are a blight,
no new stores in sight,
just shows how this city’s been run.
I guess that we’ll all have to wait
to hear what His Honor will “State”
about things to come
that won’t sound as dumb
as prognostications of late.
