 O’Neill, John A. John A. O’Neill, a lifetime resident of New Rochelle, died on December 7, 2013. He was 85. John was born on October 8, 1928 in New Rochelle, to the late Jack and Mary. O’Neill. He was a retired New Rochelle Police Officer having worked for over 25 years. He was a member of the New Rochelle PBA. He served in the Coast Guard and was a Licensed Charter Boat Captain who was the Captain of the Shamrock for over 30 years. After he retired from the police department he worked at the New Rochelle Municipal Marina where he was currently employed. He is survived by his wife the former Emma Silcher whom he married in 1975; his two sons John O’Neill, Jr. and Lee Hebenstreit (Marybeth); his grandchildren Jennifer, Kate, Keith and Brandon and his brother Thomas. Visiting will be Sunday and Monday 2-4 & 7-9pm at Lloyd Maxcy & Sons Beauchamp Chapel, 16 Shea Place, New Rochelle where a funeral service will be held Monday at 8:30pm.
