New Rochelle Department of Public Works sanitation worker John Paolucci,32, resigned suddenly today when confronted with evidence that he had forged notes from a doctor. Threatened with prosecution, Paolucci felt he had no choice but to submit his resignation.
Paolucci offered no excuses. "I screwed up", he told Talk of the Sound. Paolucci worked for the DPW for 10 years.
While not excusing Paolucci, some sources in City Hall expressed dismay at the disproportionate response noting that DPW Fleet Manager Richard Fevang (left), who has a history of problems and is currently under investigation by the Westchester District Attorney's office, continues to draw a paycheck. Word is that Fevang is considering retirement in order to protect his pension
