NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The Iona College volleyball program wrapped up its weekend with a tough four set loss (18-25, 17-25, 25-23, 15-25) at Rider on Sunday afternoon.  The Maroon & Gold got strong efforts for the second straight game from senior Karly White and freshman Tess Connolly.

Following Rider winning the opening two sets, the Gaels survived with a valiant comeback effort in the third.  Trailing throughout the majority of the set, Iona battled back from being down 21-18.  Connolly scored the set-clinching points with two straight service aces.

Connolly had 10 kills with a .143 hitting percentage.  She now has four double-digit kills efforts this season.  White recorded her third consecutive double-digit kill effort with 10 kills on 24 attempts.

Sophomore Claire Archibald tied her second-highest dig total of the year with a team-high 15 digs.  Sophomore Emma Rose led the Maroon & Gold with 25 assists.

The Broncs had a higher hitting percentage in all four sets.

The Maroon & Gold return to action on Friday, Oct. 21 when the Quinnipiac Bobcats travel to the Hynes Center.
