Security Guard Charged Followed Shooting at Elks Lodge in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Henry Williams, 62, of Mamaroneck, NY was arrested by the New Rochelle Police Department on charges of Menacing-2nd Degree, Assault-3rd Degree, Reckless Endangerment-Second Degree, all misdemeanors, after he discharged a handgun during a crowded party at the Elks Empire Lodge at 137 Lincoln Avenue.

“Someone discharged a weapon, a gun was discharged into the ground and one person is complaining they were hit with fragmentation from that discharged round”, said Sgt. Adam Castiglia.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 2 a.m. with a report of “shots fired”.

A short time later a man walked into the Emergency Room at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital claiming he was struck in the nose and arm by fragments of a bullet.

There has been a spate of incident at the Elks Empire Lodge over the past year, including reports of shots fired.
