NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Shanit Halperin, a former administrator in the Yonkers Public Schools, has been named Director of Research, Assessment and Accountability in the New Rochelle school district. She was appointed to the post on June 6 by the New Rochelle Board of Education.

In her new position, Halperin will be responsible for data and information flow, including supplying the Annual Professional Performance Review data for teachers and principals to the New York State Department of Education. She will also work with the director of technology to inform administrators throughout the districts how students are performing in reaching benchmarks and on state and local assessments.

“I am honored and excited to join the City School District of New Rochelle team,” Halperin said. “I look forward to working in partnership with all stakeholders to further the District’s mission to continue to provide a challenging education of the highest quality for every child, by promoting a data-driven culture with innovative technology and current research.”

In Yonkers, Halperin served as Director of Accountability, Research and Data Processing. In New Rochelle, she will replace Susan Yom, who served the district for 16 years.

“Efficient data flow is crucial to providing top-quality education to students in a district like New Rochelle,” said Superintendent Dr. Brian Osborne. “Shanit Halperin is well-suited to the mission of making sure the data is kept up to date and available to those who need it.”
