Sr. Marie Magdalena Angerame Obituary, Former Holy Name School Principal

Sr. Marie Magdalena Angerame, 94, A resident of Mount Vernon died on February 21, 2014 at the age of 94. She was born on may 11, 1919 in Queens to the late Rocco and Rosaria Angerame. She is survived by a niece Marie Sullivan and nephew John Pugliese. She entered the Sisters of ST. Francis in Wappingers Falls on January 8, 1939, with first profession on July 14, 1941 and final vows three years later. Sister Marie Magdalena ministered in the field of education for many years as both a teacher and principal in several schools in Westchester, Holy Name in New Rochelle, Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe, and she was an educator at Mt. Carmel in Poughkeepsie, St. Aloysius, Mt. Lorretto, in Staten Island, St. Joseph School in New Rochelle and Immaculate Conception School in Tuckahoe. Her last ministry before her retirement was an archivist for the unpublished documents of Cardinal Cooke.

The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Monday, February 24, 2014 2 to 4 & 6- 8 pm. Mass of requiem, Tuesday February 25, 2014 at 10:30 am at Immaculate Conception Church, Tuckahoe. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Sister’s of St. Francis of the Neuman Community 2500 Grant Blvd. Syracuse, NY 13208.
