To all those Rangers Fans out there,

Support The New Rochelle Lightning Youth Hockey Organization and The Town of Mamaroneck Youth Hockey!

I just received this information from The Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Department because I am registered with The Town of Mamaroneck Recreation Department and on their e-mail list. Since The City of New Rochelle has no Ice Rink, we have to go to Hommocks Park Ice Rink for their open skating and lessons. They run a great venue there.

New York Rangers Alumni will be joined by Coaches and Volunteers from the Town of Mamaroneck Youth Hockey and New Rochelle Lightning Youth Hockey Organizations for an Exhibition Hockey Game on January 22, 2014 at the Hommocks Park Ice Rink. Looks like fun. Go out and support The New Rochelle Lightning Youth Hockey Organization and The Town of Mamaroneck Youth Hockey. Wouldn't it be great if The New Rochelle Lightning Youth Hockey Organization could play hockey and practice at a rink in The City of New Rochelle?

That is a topic for another day and another time.

Bob, thanks for posting this. It should be a great event. If you have children looking to experience ice hockey for free make sure to sign up.

Afterwards, The New Rochelle Lightning Youth Hockey Coaches will be skating against NY Ranger Alumni. Sort of reminds me of the days of Donkey Basketball at NRHS.

Seriously, this is a great way to support youth hockey while enjoying a fun hockey game. Having coached with the NR Lightning Hockey Club for numerous years they were kind enough to extend me an invite to play in this. I will be packing up the car to make the trek back to New Ro from DC area. I am looking forward to it as well. We all hope to see you there.
