NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- Three members of the New Rochelle High School track team were struck by a car pulling out onto Webster Avenue from Bon Air Avenue this afternoon. The three boys were among a group of runners making their way eastbound along Webster Avenue about 8 blocks from the high school.

The driver of a black Dodge charger said he was looking left for oncoming traffic in the westbound lane when he pulled forward and drove into the group of runners, striking three of them.

The driver said that two of the boys appeared to be unharmed but one boy was struck in the leg, possibly the knee, and was taken by ambulance to Sound Shore hospital.
