The Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee has ruled that material in a campaign mailer sent by Roberto Lopez in his District 1 race against New Rochelle Council Member Louis Trangucci was “false and misleading”
Trangucci filed a complaint stating that a campaign mailing by Roberto Lopez misrepresented that Mr. Trangucci “put developers’ profits ahead of the people”. The Committee determined the material in the campaign mailer to be false and misleading because Mr. Trangucci’s votes on the legislation in question did not reflect support for developers or for developers’ profits.
The Committee met on November 16, 2011, to hear the complaint of Louis Trangucci, Republican, against Roberto Lopez, Democrat, both candidates for the New Rochelle City Counsel, District 1. Mr. Trangucci was represented by his wife, Theresa Parente Trangucci. Mr. Lopez, although served with the complaint and notified of the date, time and place of the hearing, did not appear and did not submit any response to the complaint.
Committee Members include Evelyn M. Stock (Chair), Miriam Cohen (Coordinator), Dennis Chillemi. Dan Franklin, LaRuth Gray, Victor Goldberg, Susan Pace Guma, Milton Hoffman, Lee Kinnally, Robert Kirkwood, Polly M. Kuhn, Ernest Prince, Susan Schwarz, and Lorelei A. Vargas.
The purpose of the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee is to promote a climate in which candidates conduct honest and fair campaigns. The Committee encourages candidates to conduct campaigns openly and fairly, to discuss issues, to refrain from dishonest and defamatory attacks, and not to use campaign materials that distort the facts.
Lopez a disgrace
Lopez was a disgrace as a councilman, is a disgrace as friend for disowning Roberto Silva (a close friend) when Silva was caught in a homosexual sting and recently Lopez received a violation for illegal parking at his property on Lafayette. Lopez has surrounded himself with a campaign manager who claims to have worked on Senator Hiram Monserrate’s campaign who beat and cut his girlfriend and a West End lawyer who needs serious anger management counseling. Even Bramson realized what a loose canon Lopez is and gave Lopez the bare minimum assistance for his campaign. The NR democrats carved out a Hispanic district for Lopez and he lost handily. Now Lopez can go back to selling his chips and being a slumlord knowing that he couldn’t win an election with the deck stacked in his favor. It wouldn’t surprise me to see the name of Lopez among the next group of men in a future public sex sting.
A liar is a liar is a liar.
Olga Tanon sang it best, ” ese tipo es un MENTIROSO!” ( That man is a liar). Lopez lies about EVERYTHING under the sun ! Ask him about his business practices, his life long friendship with Robert Silva ( recently arrested in a sex sting at Saxon woods park) and his mendacious campaign tactics and without a doubt, he will respond, or better yet, spew more lies. He is incapable of telling the truth to anyone– to his constituents, business partners, friends, family, wife, and even to himself .So, this ruling from the Fair Campaign Practices Committee should come as NO SURPRISE at all to anyone who knows him or has had the misfortune of dealing with him ! He should take this ruling and his recent electoral defeat as the death blow to whatever political career he has envisioned for himself. The last thing the people of New Rochelle need during these difficult times is ” el Gallo-Gallina” in City government. Sabemos la verdad, Mentiroso ! ( we know the truth, liar!)
