The web site for Westchester County in New York was hacked. The site is currently closed for maintenance. A notice about the incident was sent to county workers.
The site was hacked following the installation of a third-party extension to the Joomla software which is used as the content management system for the county web site. No information was available on possible losses of confidential data.
