Woman Smashes Up Multiple Vehicles in Downtown New Rochelle on Early Morning Drunken Driving Spree

DSC 6389NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- A woman was arrested by New Rochelle police after damaging 8 vehicles, possibly more, in a drunken driving smash-up spree early this morning, according to the NRPD scanner. The incident began around 7:30 a.m.on Elm Street and Centre Avenue near the College of New Rochelle, continued up Centre Avenue and then onto Main Street. The woman then drove the wrong way down Church Street, a one-way Street, before turning onto Bonnefoy Place where she was apprehended by police.

UPDATE: Sgt. Myron Joseph told Talk of the Sound that the police were not able to identify any damaged vehicles, that the case was being treated as an EMS case (medical problem) and that the woman had been taken to Sound Shore Medical Center in New Rochelle, NY. News12 heard what we heard because they were over on Bonnefoy Place shooting video of the damaged vehicle. Neither they nor Talk of the Sound was able to find any damaged cars.
