NEW ROCHELLE, NY -- The City of New Rochelle has completed the first phase of its rollout of red light cameras.

The locations were determined after reviewing accident and volume data at intersections.

Two more locations are being added this week and will be tested for a week or so before going active; Huguenot/Centre and Main Webster.

Other cameras are expected the located throughout the city:

Main Street and Echo Avenue

North Avenue and Huguenot Street

North Avenue and Quaker Ridge

Main Street and Kings Hwy

Lincoln Avenue and Webster Avenue

Main Street and Stephenson Blvd

Palmer Ave and Stephenson Blvd

"We were approved for up to 12 locations," said City Manager Charles B. Strome. "The police department will be installing additional locations in the future."
