No ocurrio.
No sabemos si nuestros hijos estan bien ahi. Exijan cambios!

Mr. Sanchez-Since I do not read Spanish, please translate your article. Thank you

The recent arrest of former administrator of Isaac Young Middle School, Mr. Jose Martinez, has caused much concern to our parents for what happened and the impact on our children. What has not been communicated in writing is also a complete lack of respect for the Latino community in New Rochelle by the administration and school board. A lack of communication in writing on what happened and what is happening. Last Friday in the morning he was arrested. Immediately the district should have organized a meeting with parents of IYMS and community leaders. It did not occur. During the weekend and Monday and Tuesday, there were also NO meetings with parents of IYMS. Imagine if this had happened the Albert Leonard School? Parents there would not have had the patience to wait. The meeting tonight that the admninistracion is mentioning is the pre-scheduledd meeting by the PTA. So the PTA is responsible for organizing this event. That is fine, but it lessen the seriousness and involvement of the administration - as not taking this situation seriously!
We all know very well that there were many problems with abuse IYMS of our children and the many complaints that have been made to principal that has never resulted in anything. There is a culture that punished the complainant and also punish teachers who want to change things for the better.
This Wednesday night is a meeting at the IYMS 730pm. Please be present. We do not know if our children are safe. Demand change! If you can not complain to school do so to the Distrrict Attorney. Thanks

Thank you for translating. I hope the school provides an English and Spanish translator during this meeting. It is terrible what the children and parents are going through. I only hope our community can heal, that is most important. I am very disappointed in the PTA and PTA Council for not coming forward and helping the parents.

Aside from that, our homes are worth nothing. I wonder what a real estate agent would tell a home buyer when they ask about the schools in the south end.

How much more are we willing to put up with!
