How Much is Mr. Organisciak Worth to the New Rochelle Taxpayers?

ShareThis

In a continuous effort to seek an ever elusive transparency, we thought we would post the current City School District of New Rochelle contract with the Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Richard Organisciak as well as the soon to be expired Teachers' contract.

Now that Mr. O has successfully passed another budget, he is worth his weight in gold. What a great place to be. Kudos to you Mr. O.

It seems to be a lot of sick days in this contract, particularly with the weeks off during the school year and summer's off.

For 0-3 years service -- 10 sick days
For 4-5 years service -- 15 sick days
For 5+ years service -- 20 sick days

can't download easily, but I will bet this contract also has both vertical and horizontal salary increase provisions. This means you get both the mandated contract increase and more money if you get additional educational credits which is easy because I will also bet this contract has liberal tuition refunds, and, of course, ample time during the summer to get additional credits, and so on, and so forth.

might be nice to highlight some of the more salient facts re: superintendents contract as well in event it is difficult to pick up

In addition to the annual salary increases and any bumps for obtaining degrees there is an additional "step" increase every three years.

That is why even if you froze salaries this year, they would still need more money to pay people because one-third will also step up in a given year.
