New Rochelle Names Kathy Gill Named "Acting" Corporation Counsel in Wake of "Sudden Retirement" of Bernis Shapiro

ShareThis

The Journal News blog is reporting, Kathleen Gill has been named "acting" corporation counsel:

City Manager Charles Strome III today said he’ll name Shapiro’s deputy Kathleen Gill as her temporary replacement. Gill has been with the city since 1995.

“She’s been here a long time and she’s experienced,” Strome said.

I would encourage everyone to read the entire post, especially the funny part where Aman Ali pretends not to know that Shapiro was fired or why.

Of course, if you want the full story feel free to click on our original report which contains all the juicy details:

Why in the world would the City appoint Kathleen Gill as Acting Corporation Counsel, when it has been reported that her improper actions as Deputy Corporation Counsel resulted in then Corporation Counsel Bernis Shapiro being made to retire from the City when she attempted to discipline Ms. Gill?
