Bullying

ShareThis

Several months ago a student from Ursuline threatened my daughter. She continued bullying my child to the point where i considered reporting it to the authorities. I was able to get the phone number of the bully's mother & called her with the hope that as a parent she would have a conversation with her daughter & help to resolve the issue. That mother's response was that she doesn't get involved in her daughter's affairs! my next plan of action was to write a letter to Ursuline's principal, but i was discouraged by others to do so for fear of repercussions on my daughter. Now i feel remorseful that i did not go through with my intentions to request that Ursuline strongly enforce a policy against bullying. I might have made a positive difference. I don't know all the details surrounding Eira's death, but i do know that as parents we need to stop making excuses for our children. as parents we need to support one another regardless of race, class or creed, so that our children will feel supported. It is so sad what our society has come to. Such a beautiful soul lost at such a tender age. May God Bless Eira's family with strength to get through this horrible tragedy.

Under New Rochelle Board of Education Resolution 12-180-9 Martin Freiman, the racist janitor, has again been moved, this time to Ward Elementary School.

Charlie Planz has been hired as a temporary Assistant Principal at Trinity Elementary School. Why they need someone there for the next three weeks when they have had no one since Pacheco resigned on October 14th is a mystery. A reasonable guess is that Planz is from Long Island, part of the Organisciak "mafia" looking to collect a little easy scratch for the holidays. Meanwhile, according to the HR director Raza Kholifar, Trinity Principal Bricenio has put together a site-based team to evaluate 9 candidates for the open AP position. 3 of the 9 were to be forwarded to Organisciak for review.

There is some sort of Civics Event scheduled for New Rochelle High School where Westchester County Clerk Tim Idoni will preside. As the New Rochelle Board of Education refuses to allow it, Talk of the Sound will not cover the event.

Iona Men's Hoops Earns Road Win In Conference Opener at Canisius

BUFFALO, NY - The Iona College men's basketball team won its Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference opener at Canisius 69-57. With the Griffs doing a solid job dictating the tempo away from the Gaels' comfortable frenetic pace, the Maroon & Gold clamped down on defense in the second half to earn the 12-point conference road win.

The slowed down pace, cold-shooting by Iona and some opportune shot making with the shot clock winding down for Canisius kept the Griffs within striking distance over the first 30 minutes of the contest.
